Biography
Founding attorney Leif A. Becker, Esq. is a New Hampshire criminal defense, family, and appellate attorney who built Becker Legal PLLC to serve clients across New Hampshire and Maine with affordable, client-centered representation. He focuses his practice on personal injury, workers’ compensation, civil litigation, domestic violence, family law, and criminal defense, bringing a litigation background and strong courtroom presence to each case.
A North Country native, Leif began his education at White Mountains Community College, earning an Associate of Arts in Teacher Education, then graduated magna cum laude from Plymouth State University with a B.A. in Political Science, and later earned his J.D. from the University of New Hampshire School of Law. He is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and Maine, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire, and the First Circuit Court of Appeals, allowing him to advocate for clients in both trial and appellate courts.
Leif’s career is defined by service. Since 2019, he has accepted more than 70 pro bono cases through New Hampshire Bar Association programs, including many matters from the Domestic Violence Emergency (DOVE) Project, reflecting his commitment to protecting vulnerable clients in crisis. 6 His dedication to equal justice and community service has been recognized with the HAVEN NH Life Changer Award, the New Hampshire Bar Association Pro Bono Rising Star Award, Seacoast 10 to Watch, and the New Hampshire Union Leader’s 40 Under 40.
Leif approaches every matter with a holistic, results-driven mindset, working alongside clients to identify what truly matters to them and to choose legal strategies that align with their long-term goals. He believes in clear communication, transparency, and empowering clients to speak up and advocate for themselves, values shaped by his own educational journey and board service with justice- and community-focused organizations. Representing Vulnerable Clients
Our founding attorney, Leif Becker, prioritizes putting his clients in the best possible position for resolving their legal disputes. He has accepted more than 70 pro bono cases since 2019 including many from New Hampshire’s Domestic Violence Emergency Project (DOVE). He stepped up in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure vulnerable clients in distress due to domestic violence received the legal services and protection they needed in their time of crisis. Serving clients throughout the state, attorney Becker received recognition from The New Hampshire Bar Association (NHBA) for his commitment to equal justice for disadvantaged and low-income clients; he was named as a 2021 Pro Bono Rising Star for his valuable contributions.
Attorney Becker was named a 2020 recipient of “Life Changer” award by Haven, the state’s preeminent domestic violence and sexual violence support and prevention agency. The agency serves 48 communities in southeastern New Hampshire.
